Check the listing before you pay

Buyer checks for Kakobuy spreadsheet finds

A list can point you toward a product, but it cannot tell you whether that exact listing is right for your size, budget, and risk tolerance. Use this checklist before payment and again before warehouse shipping.

Quick answer

Before paying, verify photos, measurements, seller consistency, total cost, return wording, and clear agent notes. Repeat the check before approving warehouse shipping.

1. QC and listing photos

Look for recent buyer or warehouse photos, not only polished seller images. For shoes, compare shape, stitching, sole profile, heel tab, and inner label. For clothing, check fabric texture, print alignment, cuffs, zipper quality, and visible measurements.

Pass only when the photos answer the important questions for that item type. If the only images are studio shots or tiny screenshots, treat the listing as unproven.

2. Measurements

Size labels are unreliable across sellers. Use shoulder, chest, length, sleeve, waist, inseam, and insole measurements where available. If the listing does not show enough sizing detail, treat that as a real risk rather than something you can fix later.

Compare numbers with an item you already own. Guessing from S, M, L, EU, or US labels is weaker than checking actual centimeters.

3. Seller and order history

A listing with repeated orders and usable feedback is easier to judge. Be more cautious when a seller changes photos often, has vague descriptions, shows no visible history, or uses unclear variant names.

Consistency matters. If the product title, images, size chart, and variants all feel mismatched, the agent may also have trouble ordering the exact version you expect.

4. Total cost

Cheap items can become expensive once domestic shipping, agent fees, international shipping weight, returns, and exchange costs are included. Heavy hoodies, jackets, shoes, and bags can change the final value quickly.

Before you order, estimate whether the item still makes sense after shipping. A low product price is less useful if weight, packaging, or return costs erase the savings.

5. Return and exchange wording

Know whether size exchange or return is available before ordering. Some listings are final sale, some sellers respond slowly, and some returns cost enough that a mistake is not worth the original discount.

Return terms matter most for shoes, fitted clothing, expensive items, and products with many similar variants.

6. Agent notes and records

Save screenshots of the product page, selected size, selected color, price, seller notes, and any measurement chart. Add clear order notes when color, version, or size choices are easy to mix up.

Useful note template: item name, product link, selected size, selected color, version or batch, expected measurement, concern to check at QC, and whether to ask before substituting.

7. Warehouse approval

Do not approve shipping automatically. Compare warehouse photos against your original listing and notes. If shape, logo placement, color, size tag, or material looks wrong, ask your agent before sending the parcel internationally.
